To learn to read fluently, a pupil should not have to think about which letter he or she is seeing. The link between sound and letter needs to become "automatic". This can be practised by flashing. Flashing is the brief display of letters, letter combinations or words that are named immediately, without thinking. This app is intended as a joint exercise between a guide (teacher or parent) and the pupil: the guide moves to the next task as soon as a letter(-combination) or word has been named correctly. It is intended for pupils starting in grade 3 (age 7/8).
